PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
This week had several visitors to our school to support the teaching and learning program implemented by our teaching staff. Firefighter Craig worked with students to help raise their awareness of fire safety. It was wonderful to hear that our students were very respectful and engaged in their fire safety lessons. During PE lessons students had visitors from AFL Tas working with them on improving general ball skills and game awareness skills. Our students enjoyed their lessons and were very well behaved, listening to our visitors and taking onboard tips given to improve skills. We are very fortunate to have many visitors come to our school and work with our students through out the year on a wide variety of sports.
Thank you to our parent community for waiting for school hats and tops to arrive at the office. We had a lot of stock this year on book sales day, however we sold the majority of our stock and therefore had to order more. If you need items of school uniform, please see the friendly office staff who will be happy to assist you.
This week a number of our staff attended professional learning at the Paranaple Centre to further their learning in supporting students to increase their reading skills. Once again, Reading is a key focus of our School Improvement Plan. This is the case in all government schools. Our staff work very hard to support students increase their reading. It would be wonderful if at home parents/carers were able to find a few minutes each day to listen to their child read, or read to their child.
