Student Attendance

Every school day matters.  It is very important that your child attends school every school day, for the whole school day.  Going to school every day gives your child every chance to learn and grow, and connect with their friends and teachers.  It’s where bright futures start and where they’ll benefit the most.

If your child is away from school parents/carers are asked to contact the office to provide a reason for the absence.  We are required to record a reason for all students every time they are absent from school.

P-2 Swimming and Water Safety Program

This week our P-2 students participated in our annual Swimming and Water safety program.  Over the course of the week, many students greatly developed their skills and understanding in an aquatic environment.  Thank you to staff for supporting this program, in particular our wonderful teacher assistants, many of whom get into the water to provide support to students.

Harmony Week

This week is Harmony Week – a celebration that recognises diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.  Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, no matter your culture or background.

At Devonport Primary, we have a diverse student population and value the unique experiences and knowledge that our students and families bring to our school.  I want all of our students and families to feel safe, welcomed and supported at our school.

Congratulations!

A big congratulations to Kiera Collins who came second in her 75m race at the Twilight Finals in Penguin.  Kiera will now race in the State Athletic Carnival next term, a wonderful achievement, we wish you the best of luck Kiera!

NAPLAN

Well done to all our Grade 3 and 5 students who participated in NAPLAN over the last two weeks, you have all done a great job and given your best effort, we are all proud of you!

School Sport

Our staff have been very busy organising teams to participate in local school age sporting rosters.  Thank you to all involved for supporting our students in their sporting endeavours.  Sport provides many benefits to students, from being active to creating new friendships and of course … having lots of FUN!  Support from home is vital in ensuring our teams can enter rosters after school hours, thank you to all who help out in a variety of ways.
